At about 9.50am, an SMRT bus crashed into a tree, taking out the road divider in the process. The lane where the accident occurred was partially closed, according to eye-witnesses. The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) arrived on the scene and took more than two hours to clear the debris. The Singapore Police Force (SPF) later revealed that the bus reportedly self-skidded. The driver and his five passengers suffered minor injuries and were sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating the incident.
