An 11-year-old boy was walking to the park when he stumbled upon a 1.5m-long monitor lizard. Thinking it was a crocodile, he ran back up and informed his siblings. A quick thinking uncle pushed a dustbin towards the lift door to prevent oblivious residents from leaving the lift and the reptile from entering.
Officers from the Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (ACRES) arrived two hours later and proceeded to prod the lizard away from the lobby into a more spacious area.
