207 Yishun St 21: Lady Abandoned 39 Cats In Her House

After receiving complaints of foul odour emanating from a flat in Yishun, officers from the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) stormed the unit, only to discover 39 adopted cats trapped in horrific living conditions and suffering from poor physical health. Four later died due to underlying medical conditions, while another had to be put to sleep due to poor health. The remaining 34 cats were handed to the Cat Welfare Society for re-homing.

The owner was sentenced to just two weeks in jail, although her drug-related convictions brought her prison time to a grand total of 67 months.
